Middle East

We serve the international connectivity needs of enterprise and wholesale customers in more than 40 Middle Eastern cities from a suite of satellite, fiber and MPLS VPN solutions.

A representative office in Dubai co-ordinates a substantial regional presence built on cultural knowledge and technical creativity via a series of productive partnerships and relationships with regional carriers.

Serving regional geographies that include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain and Kuwait, PCCW Global also provides live video broadcasting services that extend into Africa and North America.

As an illustration of our standing in the region’s telecommunications community, PCCW Global won the Best Managed Service Award at the Telecoms World Middle East 2007 congress event staged in Dubai.

Africa

The established and emerging needs of customers in all African countries can be addressed by either PCCW Global’s cable or satellite capabilities in conjunction with a range of IP, MPLS VPN and IPLC products and services.

PCCW Global serves the IPLC, Internet, MPLS and interconnection requirements of most enterprise and wholesale customers with capacity from several submarine and terrestrial optical fiber cables connecting to Africa, including SAT3, Main One, Glo1, TEAMS, EASSY, and SEACOM. We are looking to expand our connectivity on a series of new planned cables to improve our coverage in Africa.

We have earned a reputation for deploying innovative satellite solutions in areas that lack traditional telecommunications infrastructure. These include provision of cellular backhaul networks, which is especially valuable to mobile communications and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) operations.

As well as greatly assisting GSM operators in planning and building backhaul networks, our satellite capability facilitates international voice and signaling services, network management and onsite maintenance.

That same satellite coverage enables customers all over the world to communicate with the remotest African outposts much more efficiently – and makes PCCW Global an important Internet-via-satellite player, providing access to ISPs and other entities from teleports in Hong Kong and Europe. We also provide satellite-based broadband global area network (BGAN) services that bridge to Europe and East Asia.

We also serve the voice requirements and operations for service providers and enterprises alike in Africa.
