PCCW Global extends MPLS VPN benefits around the world
Washington DC, May 23, 2007 - PCCW Limited's subsidiary PCCW Global Limited ("PCCW Global"), a leading MPLS VPN provider, today announced a partnership arrangement with Bharti Airtel, India's leading telecom services provider, to extend connectivity into India, thereby enhancing end-to-end global solutions. Bharti currently owns 102 MPLS points of presence (PoPs) in India. Bharti is the only service provider to have an all-India footprint covering every one of the nation's 23 telecoms circles. In addition, PCCW Global has announced expanded coverage to Middle Eastern markets, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, plus Turkey, where Europe meets Asia. PCCW Global and Bharti each hold proven track records in successful interconnection with service providers in various regions. These extensions provide simple and cost-effective global solutions that enable multinational corporations to consolidate wide-ranging applications on one network. Designed to evaluate operators serving multinational corporations with pan-regional networks in Asia Pacific, the Gartner Magic Quadrant 2006 report assessed PCCW Global based on its ability to execute and completeness of vision among other players in the same category.
