Lead Development Operations Engineer / Team Leader
Roles and Responsibilities:
PCCW Global is looking for a Lead Development Operations Engineer / Team Leader based in Greece.
- Lead a very competent engineering team
- Inspire and mentor your peers while also looking ahead at a 6 to 12 months horizon as to cover business trends and requirements
- Contribute in the design of high-volume, low-latency services for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance
- Manage and automate production deployments
- Troubleshoot and classify production issues
- Contribute in design phases of the development life-cycle to help identify potential bottlenecks or wrong practices
- Prepare and execute performance tests in clustered environments
- Monitor and tune production systems performance
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
Reqirements:
- B.Sc. in Computer Science
- At least 5 years of System Engineering and/or DevOps Engineering
- Experience at leading teams of more than 4 people
- Strong background in Linux / Unix Administration
- Knowledge of Ruby, Python and Go programming languages
- Experience in distributed, big data platforms
- Strong experience with configuration management tools (preferably SaltStack)
- Continuous Delivery methodologies and Continuous Integration tools
- Adaptability, Strong Team Player, Self-Driven, Willingness to Learn
- Ability to work well under pressure with track record of meeting deadlines in sometimes challenging situations
- Must be dependable, reliable, and have attention to detail
- Thrives on the operations and production of large-scale distributed systems in the cloud
Nice to have:
- Java programming experience
- Experience with Apache Spark and its ecosystem
- Experience with Apache Hadoop
